Executive interview chronicles UOW’s growth, achievements and bright future

51²è¹Ý Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings, CBE, was recently featured in an executive interview published in  entitled .

Each edition of , which aims to inspire the business world, includes in-depth feature interviews with CEOs and high-level executives from the world’s most innovative and influential companies, institutions and not-for-profit organisations across a wide range of industry sectors.

In his interview, Professor Wellings discusses his own career journey and UOW’s development from humble beginnings to become a global, multi-campus institution ranked in the top 100 in some disciplines, with a world-wide network of alumni, a strong reputation for teaching and research excellence and a clear strategy for growth.

“Universities tend to be an anchor in the way we see institutions. The thing for me is to ask, ‘How do we remain a place with a great tradition of learning?’ And at the same time, ‘How do we do things that are responsive, flexible and relevant?’ 51²è¹Ý university has a fantastic tradition of being adaptive in that way. You can see the effort we’ve put into making sure that graduates who leave 51²è¹Ý have got skill sets that give them fantastic career opportunities but also respond to the immediacy of the job market.â€
