Dr Christopher Patterson is available for interviews about International Nurses Day (Friday 12 May). He is a registered nurse and senior lecturer in the School of Nursing, with specialist qualifications in mental health. was awarded Nurse of the Year at the Australian Healthcare Week Awards in 2019.


Artificial Intelligence – Four Corners

Dr Armin Alimardani can comment on last night’s episode of Four Corners which focused on the misuse and abuse of generative artificial intelligence.  is a Lecturer in the School of Law and an expert in the ethical and legal implications of emerging technologies.

Dr Mona Nikidehaghani is an expert in the relationship between accounting and public policies. She is a Lecturer in the School of Business.  is particularly interested in accounting, social welfare and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. 


Honorary Fellow Ty Christopher can comment on announcements related to energy. He is the Director of UOW’s Energy Futures Network. The Energy Futures Network’s research includes renewable energy systems and integration, power systems, sustainability (including building design), power quality and reliability, battery energy storage and management systems, distributed energy generation, microgrids, infrastructure modelling and economics, and R&D leading to a more hydrogen-intensive economy.


Dr Betty Frino can discuss the labour market, wages policy, income tax, superannuation, childcare and family concessions.  is an expert in human resources, employment relations and organisational psychology. She is a lecturer in the School of Business.


Associate Professor Belinda Gibbons can provide commentary on climate change and sustainability. is from the Sydney Business School at UOW and is passionate about tackling climate change. She works to build greater awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in industry and business education. Associate Professor Gibbons is the Australia and New Zealand Chapter Coordinator for the UN-supported Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME).


Associate Professor Tam Ha is an expert in public health and says socio-economic factors such as income, employment, housing and education were the highest contributing influences on a person's health, making up about 40 per cent of their overall health and well-being outcomes.  is from the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. 


Associate Professor Caleb Ferguson is a nursing expert who can discuss investment in health, chronic disease management, cardiovascular disease and stroke, digital health and nursing. is a registered nurse, Principal Research Fellow and Associate Head of School (Research Strategy, Development & Partnerships) in the School of Nursing.


Associate Professor Alfredo Paloyo is an economist in the School of Business. is an expert in issues related to human capital, particularly in the fields of labour, health, and education economics.


Professor Tim McCarthy can discuss sustainability and renewable energy. He is passionate about sustainable engineering and engineering education. is the Director of UOW’s Sustainable Buildings Research Centre.


 Professor Victoria Traynor can discuss what the budget means for the aged care sector. is from the School of Nursing at the 51²è¹Ý. She is the Founding Director of Aged and Dementia Health Education Research, and Founding Co-President of the Gerontological Alliance of Nurses Australia.  


Dr Jody Moller can provide expert commentary on vaping and tobacco taxes. She is an expert in the chemical toxicity of e-cigarettes and cannabis.  is a senior lecturer in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience.
