Award-winning program for people living with disability to be delivered on-campus in 2020

is establishing its accessible film studies program for people with disabilities at the 51²è¹Ý. With the University’s new arts and social sciences building, it’s the perfect time to bring the filmmaking program to the campus.

BSF is thrilled to have the support of UOW in delivering its award-winning program on campus. The programs are taught by passionate filmmakers and industry experts, offering students exclusive opportunities to go on excursions and work with professional filmmakers. They learn through theoretical and practical experiences including set visits to WIN TV, The Voice, Fox Studios and the ABC. Many students enjoy professional work experience opportunities, including paid screen work, while creating award-winning films.

Bus Stop Films CEO, Tracey Corbin-Matchett, says: “We’re thrilled to bring our program to 51²è¹Ý, especially through the UOW campus where our students will learn film studies in a dynamic and creative educational environment. It’s wonderful to extend the program to students outside of Sydney. I can’t wait to see what they create.â€

Participants also develop improved social and communication skills in a working environment. The weekly three-hour classes will be held at UOW on Saturdays mornings over a 40-week program. This is based on four school terms starting February 2020. Students can use their NDIS funds to pay for course fees.

UOW Head of School of The Arts, English and Media, and Deputy Dean Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts, , says: “We’re very excited to work with Bus Stop Films in the delivery of inclusive filmmaking courses. The program is a great way to meet people and learn new skills while working on film projects.â€
